Electrical Apprenticeship Instructor

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States; onsite indoor office setting with visits to outdoor industrial sites and up to 10% travel.

What you will do

• Design, deliver, coordinate, and evaluate electrical apprenticeship training across multiple levels and states using the NCCER curriculum.
• Provide classroom instruction in English and Latin American Spanish, including NEC code updates, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety topics.
• Schedule training, coordinate payroll and materials, maintain records, and manage training logs.
• Assess electrical knowledge, identify training gaps, and update curricula for incoming candidates.
• Coach and mentor apprentices and field employees through apprenticeship levels and career pathways.
• Track training effectiveness, skill progression, credentials, certifications, and recertifications while enforcing safety policies.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience as an industrial or commercial electrician, preferably with crew leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, installation practices, and troubleshooting.
• Experience mentoring or training apprentices or field teams.
• High school diploma; technical certifications, journeyman or master credentials, or NCCER qualifications are required or valued.
• Fluent English and Latin American Spanish are required for instruction.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and stand, walk, and bend for extended periods; some weekend work is required.

Nice to have

• Foreman-level experience or above.
• NCCER Certified Instructor certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience managing or facilitating trade training programs.
