Associate Trainer (Electrical Harnessing)

Location: Onsite at the headquarters in Redondo Beach, California, or Cypress, California, United States.

Hourly compensation: $24.00–$30.00 USD, based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

What you will do

• Assist with hands-on and classroom training covering wire preparation, crimping, soldering, splicing, lacing, connector assembly, and inspection.
• Deliver training aligned with IPC/WHMA-A-620 and NASA-STD-8739.4A under Certified IPC Trainer or Master IPC Trainer guidance.
• Conduct practical skills assessments and support written and hands-on certification examinations.
• Maintain training materials, kitting, job aids, training records, certification status, and recertification schedules.
• Analyze recurring workmanship defects with Quality Engineering and feed root-cause and trend findings into training content.
• Mentor apprentice and junior technicians and provide constructive corrective feedback.

Requirements

• Internal applicants only: minimum one year of hands-on harness assembly, cable assembly, or directly related production experience at hirify.global.
• Must be a Harnessing Level Technician or above and have a satisfactory internal performance and quality record.
• Demonstrated proficiency in wire harness and cable assembly, including crimping, soldering, and connector termination.
• Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 acceptance criteria and familiarity with internal build documentation, travelers, and process specifications.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and build travelers and explain technical concepts clearly.
• Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements: be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice to have

• IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified IPC Specialist credential or active pursuit of certification.
• Experience mentoring or training junior technicians in production.
• Experience with root-cause investigations, NCR/MRB processes, or continuous improvement.
• Exposure to coaxial or biaxial cable assembly, epoxy potting or staking, or high-reliability aerospace, defense, or medical environments.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems or formal curriculum development.
