Marketing Accountant (Oil and Gas)

What you will do

• Manage monthly marketing accounting and settlement activities for crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids.
• Review commercial contracts and ensure transactions are recorded and settled according to contractual terms.
• Prepare and review revenue, purchase, transportation, gathering, processing, and marketing-related accruals.
• Reconcile volumes, pricing, invoices, pipeline statements, third-party settlements, and general ledger accounts.
• Analyze actual results against estimates, explain material variances, and prepare customer and counterparty invoices.
• Maintain documentation and internal controls, improve accounting processes, and support internal and external audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of oil and gas accounting experience.
• Significant experience with marketing, revenue, commodity, settlement, or midstream accounting.
• Strong knowledge of oil and gas contracts, commodity pricing, volume measurement, deductions, transportation, processing, and settlement concepts.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet monthly close and settlement deadlines, work independently, and collaborate with accounting, commercial, and operational teams.

Nice to have

• Certified Public Accountant designation.
• Experience with upstream and midstream accounting, including natural gas, crude oil, and natural gas liquids transactions.
• Familiarity with commodity pricing indices, pipeline and plant statements, imbalance accounting, and transportation arrangements.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, Enertia, Quorum, RightAngle, Allegro, or similar platforms.
• Experience supporting acquisitions, divestitures, system conversions, or accounting-process integrations.
