Azure Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; hybrid work from the hirify.global Houston office is required. The role may include up to 25% travel. Relocation is not provided.

What you will do

• Design and implement Azure landing zones using Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, including subscriptions, management groups, policies, RBAC, and cost governance.
• Engineer scalable Azure compute, storage, networking, identity, security, and monitoring services using infrastructure as code.
• Architect VNets, routing, private endpoints, firewalls, load balancers, Application Gateway/WAF, VPN, and ExpressRoute connectivity across environments and regions.
• Implement Entra ID, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management, managed identities, service principals, Key Vault integrations, and least-privilege access models.
• Build Terraform/ARM modules, PowerShell and Azure CLI automation, and CI/CD integrations with GitHub or Jenkins.
• Establish observability, security posture management, backup and disaster recovery, runbooks, SRE practices, failover testing, and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and operating enterprise Azure environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Azure platform architecture, subscriptions, management groups, policy, RBAC, cost management, and governance.
• Strong Azure networking experience, including VNets, peering, routing, NSGs, Azure Firewall, load balancers, Application Gateway/WAF, VPN, and ExpressRoute.
• Strong Entra ID and Azure IAM experience, including Conditional Access, PIM, managed identities, service principals, and Key Vault.
• Strong documentation, change management, stakeholder communication, and technical implementation leadership skills.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

• Terraform/ARM, PowerShell, Azure CLI, and CI/CD experience.
• Current Microsoft Azure certification such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-700.
