Facilities Technician - Engineering Specialist III

Location: On-site at the Fremont USA Research Center, Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; hours and days may change based on building needs.

Salary: $31.44–$40.87 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC-related, hydro-mechanical, pump, fan, motor, and utility systems.
• Monitor critical equipment, conduct daily building rounds, record operating parameters, and maintain maintenance documentation and shift pass-down logs.
• Support wastewater treatment and discharge operations, including chemical replenishment, pH meter calibration, filter press cleaning, and discharge records.
• Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment, including fans, pumps, motors, belts, filters, alarms, and related components.
• Respond to facility service requests involving temperature, plumbing, roof leaks, indoor air quality, repairs, installations, and equipment relocations.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors, support site projects and shutdowns, manage EHS supplies and hazardous waste, and participate in emergency response activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three or more years of experience in facilities, manufacturing, security management, maintenance, or a related environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of cleanrooms, DI water, process cooling and hot water, process vacuum, clean dry air, fume scrubbers, chilled water, cooling towers, tertiary water loops, and basic HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with hydro-mechanical systems, pumps, maintenance scheduling, FMS, ALC WebCTRL, computerized work order systems, CMMS, and office productivity tools.
• Ability to pass a DMV review, operate a forklift and scissor lift, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be available for on-call rotations, vacation and sick coverage, and pre-scheduled holiday or shutdown projects.
