Facilities Technician 2nd Shift (Industrial Manufacturing)

Location: Jacksonville, Florida, United States. Assigned to the 2nd shift, with flexibility for 1st or 3rd shift coverage, on-call rotation, and weekends as needed.

What you will do

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, dock equipment, and life-safety systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general building issues across three buildings.
• Respond to CMMS work orders and trouble calls, prioritizing safety-critical and production-impacting problems.
• Maintain lighting circuits, receptacles, breakers, dock equipment, and material-handling interfaces while supporting licensed electricians with higher-voltage work.
• Complete facility inspections, identify hazards and maintenance needs, and support EHS corrective actions and severe-weather preparedness.
• Document maintenance activities, coordinate on-site vendors, support workspace and equipment reconfiguration, and provide shift hand-off communication.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; facilities-related technical or trade-school certification is preferred.
• At least 2 years of hands-on facilities maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or multi-building commercial environment.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems, with safe use of hand and power tools.
• Familiarity with CMMS or work-order systems and electronic maintenance documentation.
• Understanding of lockout/tagout, confined-space awareness, and industrial safety practices; OSHA 10/30 is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license, strong troubleshooting and communication skills, and ability to work independently across a large industrial campus.

Nice to have

• Technical or trade-school certification in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and equipment manuals.
• OSHA 10/30 certification.
