TL;DR
Building Mechanic & Gas Delivery Technician III - Toxic Gas Monitoring Systems - 2nd Shift (Toxic Gas Monitoring Systems): Maintaining and repairing building systems, mechanical equipment, gas delivery systems, and toxic gas monitoring systems at a 24/7 advanced manufacturing facility with an accent on mechanical maintenance, gas safety, and regulatory compliance. Focus on troubleshooting alarms, calibrating monitoring systems, handling specialty and toxic gas cylinders, and supporting Emergency Response Team events.

Location: Normandale, United States; onsite at the Bloomington and Edina campus. Tuesday–Saturday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM, with hours subject to change.

Salary: $26.44–$37.82 per hour, plus a 10% Lead Premium.

What you will do

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building mechanical systems, plumbing, compressors, pumps, process vacuum systems, and facility equipment.
  • Support manufacturing and engineering teams with production equipment installation, modification, and repair.
  • Install, test, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot Toxic Gas Monitoring Systems, including detectors, alarms, and controllers.
  • Respond to gas monitoring alarms and support Emergency Response Team events with technical expertise.
  • Deliver, exchange, and connect specialty, toxic, and high-purity gas cylinders and dewars, including leak checks and system verification.
  • Maintain safety documentation, calibration records, and maintenance procedures while supporting audits and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience with Toxic Gas Monitoring Systems and at least 4 years of experience with safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and facility maintenance experience.
  • HAZWOPER training required or ability to become trained; valid driver’s license required.
  • Willingness to work onsite Tuesday–Saturday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM.
  • Ability to work in cleanrooms with PPE, lift up to 75 pounds, work at heights, and operate forklifts and scissor lifts.

Nice to have

  • Experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with SAP CMMS or similar systems.
  • Associate’s degree or two-year technical education.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
