Director, Enterprise Applications (Oil and Gas)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; primarily office-based with occasional travel to field offices and operational sites

What you will do

• Own the strategy, governance, inventory, roadmaps, and lifecycle management of enterprise applications across ERP, accounting, land, HR, procurement, legal, and other corporate functions.
• Lead application evaluation, onboarding, optimization, rationalization, consolidation, replacement, and retirement initiatives.
• Establish SaaS governance, vendor oversight, application stewardship, and disciplined software acquisition processes.
• Partner with business leaders to improve processes, adoption, workflows, and business value from enterprise applications.
• Coordinate with Data & Information Management, Cybersecurity & GRC, Legal, Procurement, Enterprise Services, and AI & Automation teams.
• Build and lead a team responsible for enterprise applications, integration services, vendor management, and application governance; report portfolio performance and investment recommendations to executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience managing enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, or business systems, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Required upstream oil and gas industry experience, with strong knowledge of upstream business processes and operations.
• Experience leading application rationalization, SaaS governance, enterprise integration, vendor management, and technology lifecycle initiatives.
• Knowledge of ERP, accounting, land management, HR, procurement, APIs, middleware, cloud-based integration platforms, and enterprise architecture.
• Strong business process analysis, stakeholder management, executive communication, risk management, and financial stewardship skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting exploration, drilling, completions, production, land, reservoir, or corporate functions.
• Experience in other asset-intensive industries.
• TOGAF, ITIL, PMP, or enterprise application certifications.
