Acquisition Program Engineer (Mission Planning) (Air Armament and DoD Acquisition): Supporting the design, integration, testing, fielding, and sustainment of aircraft, cruise missile, and weapon systems with an accent on mission planning, requirements engineering, system safety, and acquisition documentation. Focus on analyzing weapon-system performance, developing architecture and simulation studies, managing technical baselines and risks, and validating systems for operational deployment.
Location: Onsite at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, United States

What you will do
- Support Air Force weapon programs across requirements analysis, technology development, engineering and manufacturing development, production, deployment, and sustainment.
- Develop system architectures, requirements baselines, technical documentation, engineering reports, briefings, reviews, audits, and acquisition milestone materials.
- Analyze aircraft, cruise missile, munition, and weapon-system requirements, performance, effectiveness, reliability, maintainability, cost, risk, and schedule trade-offs.
- Support mission planning systems for tactical aircraft and unmanned aerial systems, including guidance, targeting, mapping, imagery, simulation, and network interoperability.
- Evaluate contractor proposals, drawings, designs, system readiness, source-selection materials, and integration or modification options.
- Support program risk management, Foreign Military Sales case management, international armaments cooperation, testing, fielding, and technical training.
Requirements
- Active or current Top Secret security clearance with TS/SCI eligibility, verifiable in DISS.
- PhD and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree and 15 years of experience, or bachelor’s degree and 20 years of experience.
- ABET-accredited engineering degree for engineering support requiring a bachelor’s degree or higher; engineering technology degrees do not qualify.
- Knowledge of DoD and USAF munitions safety regulations, system safety documentation, acquisition processes, and life-cycle sustainment planning.
- Experience with weapon planning systems, navigation and guidance subsystems, mission planning requirements, integration, testing, and fielding.
- Knowledge of air tasking orders, air operations centers, Joint Mission Planning System, weapon fly-out modeling, Link-16, CNR/VMF networks, and tactical data-link interoperability.
