Sr Space Systems Engineer - Ground (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Chantilly, Virginia, United States; minimal travel of 0–20%; standard working hours.

What you will do

• Provide technical oversight and leadership for SDA Tranche 3 ground segment development, testing, integration, and operations.
• Coordinate satellite system requirements and develop enterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface requirements for ground systems.
• Assess the impact of satellite requirements on ground entry points, operations centers, maintenance, and ground software solutions.
• Oversee satellite integration and testing within the SDA ground system network and mesh network with other satellite vendors.
• Assess technical maturity and risks related to ground system changes and updates.
• Coordinate with government, military, SETA, FFRDC, industry, and external stakeholders, and prepare briefings for senior decision-makers.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience with satellite and/or ground systems.
• Technical and analytical understanding of satellite and ground system interaction, with experience in systems engineering.
• AI&T experience, including authoring and reviewing test plans, procedures, data management and analysis plans, and test reports.
• Experience coordinating test logistics and performing day-of-test activities for satellite vehicle and ground system integration.
• TS clearance with SCI eligibility required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in STEM or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense or intelligence community customers.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
