Maintenance Technician IV (HVAC/R)

Location: North Chicago, Illinois, United States. Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

Salary: $30.70–$55.40 per hour

What you will do

• Provide senior-level technical support within the maintenance department and perform advanced maintenance tasks.
• Maintain department assets to support reliable equipment performance and quality standards.
• Investigate root causes and support reliability-centered maintenance analysis.
• Create or edit maintenance job plans and work across multiple skilled trade disciplines.
• Train lower-level technicians and support cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects and safety initiatives while following GMP requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma with 10+ years of experience, relevant certificate with 5+ years, associate technical degree with 3+ years, or proficiency in two or more skilled maintenance functions.
• Advanced experience with machine, diagnostic, and predictive maintenance tools.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Windows.
• Experience setting up, using, repairing, and replacing I/O and BAS-controlled systems, including sensors, controller boards, actuators, valves, and dampers.
• Working knowledge of the HVAC/R validation and commissioning process, electrical diagrams, and 24Vac, 120Vac, and 460Vac systems.
• Experience maintaining walk-in coolers and freezers, performing superheat and subcooling calculations, and holding Federal EPA certification for refrigerant recovery equipment and refrigerant handling; a valid driver’s license is required.

Nice to have

• CMRT certification or equivalent accreditation.
• Experience troubleshooting Beacon 2 smart controllers and Heatcraft IntelliGen systems.
