Maintenance Technician (Biotechnology)

Location: Onsite at the headquarters in South San Francisco, California, or the manufacturing facility in Newark, California. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and able to work after hours, on call, weekends, and shutdowns as needed.

Salary: $35.00–$42.00 per hour, plus an annual performance bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Perform daily facility rounds and routine maintenance of utility equipment, RO units, pumps, chillers, air handlers, laboratory equipment, and general facility systems.
• Maintain facilities in optimum condition and support compliance with GMP and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Document maintenance activities in the CMMS system, preferably Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Management.
• Support laboratories with lab gases, preventive maintenance, equipment service contracts, and safety equipment.
• Monitor contractor performance and coordinate with external vendors to ensure work meets specifications.
• Support furniture moves, company meeting setups, and warehouse activities when required.

Requirements

• High school diploma plus relevant trade certification, vocational training in engineering or facilities, or equivalent experience, with at least 3 years in a similar role.
• Valid California driver's license and eligibility for coverage under the company vehicle insurance policy.
• Understanding of HVAC, electrical, process systems, plumbing and piping, automation, general maintenance, pest management, and interior and exterior facilities.
• Previous cGMP experience is strongly preferred; experience with BMS systems is preferred.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lb and perform squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching for 75% of an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to work safely around hazardous chemicals, high- and low-temperature liquids, high-pressure liquids and gases, and moving machinery.
