TL;DR
Event Production Support Specialist (Broadcast): Providing onsite audiovisual and broadcast production support for high-visibility government events with an accent on live event operations, audio and video systems, lighting, and teleprompter production. Focus on delivering redundant broadcast feeds, operating secure government AV systems, and maintaining readiness for short-notice events.

Location: Washington, DC, United States; full-time onsite. Core hours are 7:00 AM–7:00 PM in two shifts, Monday–Friday, with additional hours based on event schedules and surge response coverage for short-notice events, federal holidays, and weekends.

What you will do

  • Provide direct audiovisual and broadcast production support for live and recorded events.
  • Set up and operate sound reinforcement systems, lighting, teleprompters, and broadcast-quality video recording equipment.
  • Deliver redundant audio and video feeds to national and international media.
  • Support State Visits, joint press conferences, town halls, official ceremonies, and public service announcements.
  • Record, catalog, and archive on-the-record and off-the-record events.
  • Maintain government-owned broadcast and AV systems, support system modernization, and provide customer service in high-pressure environments.

Requirements

  • Active interim security clearance required, with the ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance.
  • At least 5 years of experience in AV and/or television broadcast operations.
  • At least 2 years of experience installing, operating, and troubleshooting broadcast-quality audio and video recording systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing broadcast system setup, operation, and recovery, including lighting, sound, teleprompter operation, and on-stage announcing.
  • Experience working in secure, high-tempo, or government event environments is preferred.
