Electrician III (Industrial Electrical Systems)

Location: Bar Harbor, Maine, United States; onsite role with rotating on-call shifts and response to on-campus emergencies within one hour

Salary: $38.54–$55.89 per hour

What you will do

• Operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, install, and repair commercial and industrial electrical distribution and generation systems.
• Maintain primary high-voltage and secondary circuits, normal and emergency power distribution, UPS, and co-generation systems.
• Lead small-scale installations and commissioning of electrical and related critical-facility systems.
• Coordinate project planning with contractors and engineers, oversee contractors, and provide design support.
• Develop and update engineering specifications, bid specifications, standard operating procedures, reports, and maintenance documentation.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior technicians while ensuring safety, environmental, and security compliance.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
• Expert knowledge of electrical principles and the ability to resolve complex technical issues independently.
• Experience operating and maintaining complex electrical distribution and generation systems in critical environments.
• Ability to use CMMS, interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and control schematics, and prepare technical documentation.
• State of Maine Master Electrician License required.
• Confined-space entry certification required, or ability to qualify within six months; physical capacity for confined spaces, ladders, cramped areas, prolonged standing, and handling job-related materials.
