Senior Electrician, Construction

Location: Onsite in North Chicago, Illinois, United States. Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

Salary: $27–$48.80 per hour

What you will do

• Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and improve electrical systems supporting process and facility operations.
• Install and maintain high-voltage and low-voltage systems, electrical distribution, conduit, cable tray, control panels, and instrumentation.
• Test conductor insulation, transformer coils, circuit breakers, switchgear, transformers, motors, and related equipment.
• Maintain UPS systems, backup batteries, emergency lighting, transformer minizones, and backup generators.
• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on motor control centers, soft starts, VFDs, PLCs, process controls, and DCS equipment.
• Apply hirify.global electrical standards, NEC, GMP requirements, CMMS procedures, and corporate safety policies.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Five or more years of related experience in a commercial or industrial environment, which may include an accredited electrical apprenticeship.
• Licensed electrician experience supporting small- to large-scale electrical, instrumentation, and control installations.
• Knowledge of electrical drawings, motor load characteristics, PLC I/O, instrumentation, electrical codes, and safe-work practices.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA requirements, grounding and bonding, lockout/tagout, and arc-flash prevention.
• Must be an hirify.global-qualified Level 4 electrician.

Nice to have

• Experience leading crews and coordinating contractors.
• Experience documenting installations and working in industrial or regulated facilities.
• Experience with infrared thermography and specialized process-control systems.
