System Electrician III

Location: Hooksett, New Hampshire, United States

Starting rate of pay: $34.29–$53.03 per hour, with progression according to contract.

What you will do

• Install, test, repair, and maintain electrical transmission equipment across the region.
• Install and service transformers, metering equipment, station service equipment, bus work, switchboards, and associated control systems.
• Assist with operational analysis, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical equipment.
• Operate bucket trucks, traveling cranes, and other powered equipment.
• Perform moderately heavy outdoor work in all seasons and support emergency restoration assignments outside normal responsibilities, hours, or location.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, plus an associate degree in industrial electricity, electrical/electronic engineering, or electrical/electronic engineering technology, and/or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
• Ability to operate test equipment, hand tools, and power tools; interpret electrical drawings; work from elevated positions and in confined spaces; follow instructions; and work under limited supervision.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to successfully complete the EEI CAST aptitude test.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license, a CDL or ability to obtain one with Air Brakes, Hazardous Materials, and Tank Vehicles endorsements, respirator clearance, and a DOT medical card.

• This is a union-represented position and union membership is required.
