Process Engineer (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Saginaw, Michigan, United States; full-time onsite presence required. Primarily supports first shift, with second- and third-shift coverage, weekends, overtime, and less than 25% travel as needed. Relocation benefits may be available.

What you will do

• Manage plant-floor requests, complex problem solving, containment actions, and long-term corrective actions.
• Lead multiple technically challenging projects and manage initiatives requested by plant leadership.
• Develop technical solutions using 7 Diamonds, Red X, DFMEA, and other problem-solving tools.
• Support defect prevention, nonconforming-part disposition, root-cause follow-up, and process changes.
• Coordinate engineering changes through PFCM and improve throughput, yield, productivity, quality, and process capability through TIP.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and GSC while working autonomously during off-shift coverage.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to address unusual and complex problems.
• Understanding of GMS, quality systems, lean concepts, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work onsite, off-shift, weekend, and overtime schedules; immigration-related sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Flexnet, Q-Stat, FIT, VisMock-Up, or UG.
• Experience with process control plans, process FMEA, and Red X problem solving.
• Knowledge of foundry operations.
