Engineering Specialist, Automation (Automotive)

What you will do

• Oversee maintenance operations and supervise skilled trades supporting production and facilities.
• Maintain and improve production controls, automation, robotics, tooling, equipment uptime, throughput, and yields.
• Conduct downtime root cause analysis using the 4D process and implement corrective actions.
• Execute predictive, preventive, and crisis maintenance activities and document them in Maximo for Maintenance.
• Lead controls and automation changes, including robot programming and logic changes.
• Coordinate equipment start-up readiness, vendors, contractors, maintenance planning, and new equipment launches with ME/PE teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Controls, or Robotics Engineering.
• At least one year of technical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing or OEM tooling environment.
• Demonstrated skills with automotive controls and robotics.
• Ability to work any shift, including rotating shifts and weekends.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Technical certification in robotics, automation, or controls.
• Three or more years of automotive experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Experience managing a unionized workforce.
