Senior Accounting Process Analyst (Financial Services)

Location: Full-time remote opportunity anywhere across the United States; employees within the designated geographic range may be required to work on-site based on business needs and manager discretion.

Salary: $70,434.00–$95,294.00 per year.

What you will do

• Facilitate accounting, reporting, and operational processes by validating financial data and ensuring accurate downstream reporting.
• Classify, transform, reconcile, and report financial transactions in accordance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
• Analyze data, research issues, investigate discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis, and improve data quality and reporting effectiveness.
• Support audits, regulatory examinations, financial controls, and audit readiness through documentation and validation.
• Identify and implement process simplification, standardization, and automation opportunities.
• Partner with Accounting, Operations, Financial Controls, and Technology stakeholders to manage risks and improve operational performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, operations, or systems-related roles.
• Ability to analyze data, perform reconciliations, and resolve issues affecting financial processes, reporting, controls, and operational effectiveness.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, SQL, and financial or operational systems.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger concepts, and financial reporting processes.
• Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to act as a subject-matter expert, explain concepts clearly, manage shifting priorities, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or a large corporate environment with complex financial processes.
• Experience supporting financial reporting, audits, or regulatory processes, and familiarity with financial systems, data tools, or reporting platforms.
• Progress toward or interest in CPA, CMA, MBA, IIBA-CBAP, or IIBA-CCBA certifications.
• Exposure to process improvement or continuous improvement initiatives.
