Technical Director, AI Decision Systems

Location: Remote, USA; occasional travel of up to 25% to headquarters, customer sites, and vendor facilities is required.

Salary: $220,000–$260,000 per year, plus bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional team across product, design, engineering, data, AI, analytics, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, quality, and technical transition.
• Own technical strategy, architecture, execution, and delivery from discovery through operational deployment.
• Translate mission needs and product priorities into technical plans, release objectives, and engineering decisions.
• Integrate software, data, AI, infrastructure, security, and quality into one secure, explainable, and operational capability.
• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing technical organization.
• Identify technical risks and dependencies, partner with customers and stakeholders, and remain hands-on enough to review designs and solve difficult problems.

Requirements

• Significant accomplishments in software engineering, AI/ML, data systems, analytics, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, product technology, or a comparable technical discipline.
• Experience leading complex technical efforts across multiple teams and specialties.
• Ability to turn ambiguity into working systems and measurable outcomes, with strong systems thinking, communication, and leadership judgment.
• Experience delivering cloud-native software from concept through deployment and operations.
• US citizenship is required.
• US Secret clearance is in scope; elevated security requirements apply.

Nice to have

• Active Top Secret clearance.
• Experience with zero-to-one products or mission capabilities and regulated defense, intelligence, or federal environments.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud, DevSecOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, RMF, ATO, or accreditation processes.
• Experience with AI/ML, large language models, analytics, graph technologies, data-intensive systems, human-in-the-loop decision support, or explainable AI.
• Experience hiring, mentoring, and organizing technical teams during rapid growth.
