Security Officer - Bar Harbor ME

Location: Bar Harbor, Maine, United States; onsite campus position

Pay range: $19.93–$27.40 per hour, with shift differentials for overnight and weekend shifts.

What you will do

• Protect employees, visitors, contractors, guests, property, and laboratory assets across the campus.
• Staff and monitor assigned posts, security stations, and the Security Operations Center.
• Perform assigned foot and vehicle patrols and respond to requests such as door unlocks, escorts, access permissions, and system overrides.
• Monitor security systems, alarms, telephones, and radios, escalating critical or unusual situations.
• Respond to emergencies, provide assistance, render aid, and support emergency responders.
• Use the Emergency Mass Notification system when required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or an emergency response discipline is preferred.
• Previous security experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and record security control systems and communicate critical situations clearly in writing and verbally.
• Ability to remain calm, multitask, exercise sound judgment, and work under pressure during emergencies.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable, consistent attendance.
• Must pass extensive additional background screening.
