What you will do

• Provide genetic counseling for patients and families, including presymptomatic and diagnostic counseling for movement disorders.
• Analyze genetic information, medical histories, and diagnostic data to identify risks and support treatment planning.
• Explain panel testing, exome sequencing, and genome sequencing, including their risks, benefits, and limitations.
• Interpret laboratory results and communicate findings to patients and physicians.
• Assess psychological and emotional needs and provide education, reassurance, or referral recommendations.
• Participate in graduate education, student mentoring, clinical research, the Movement Disorders Biorepository, PDGene, and movement neurogenetics conferences.

Requirements

• Licensed Genetic Counselor.
• 0–2 years of experience in a relevant role.
• Ability to counsel patients and families about genetic testing and neurological disorders.
• Ability to document comprehensive patient and family medical histories and review medical records.
