Lead Engineer, Materials Quality Engineering (Advanced Materials): Leading supplier quality engineering for critical inorganic and organic raw materials used in IC polishing consumables, deposition, etch, and other advanced materials applications with an accent on supplier risk, material qualification, process capability, and quality systems. Focus on analyzing complex material issues, leading root-cause investigations, approving SPC and measurement systems, and driving supplier risk mitigation across Korea manufacturing operations.
Location: Suwon office, South Korea, with support for the Oseong and Jangan manufacturing plants and travel to regional suppliers and global meetings as needed.

What you will do
- Lead supplier quality activities for Korea-based and regional suppliers supporting new product development and sustaining operations.
- Own supplier quality performance, risk assessments, improvement roadmaps, and continuity-of-supply initiatives.
- Lead material qualification, supplier change management, technical risk assessments, audits, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze material-related issues and lead structured investigations using 8D, 5-Why, fishbone, SPC, and statistical analysis.
- Review supplier SPC systems, metrology approaches, measurement-system capability, FMEA, control plans, and capability studies.
- Partner with Procurement, Operations, R&D, Customer Quality, Business Units, and global MQE teams while mentoring MQE peers and training suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 7–10+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, semiconductor, automotive, or another high-tech industry.
- Knowledge of chemical manufacturing and materials such as colloidal silica, aluminum oxide, cerium oxide, or polymeric nanomaterials.
- Experience in supplier quality engineering or a manufacturing environment, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives independently.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt experience and proficiency with Minitab, JMP, or SAS are preferred.
- Fluency in Korean and English is required. Travel of up to 10% domestically or internationally may be required.
Nice to have
- MS or PhD focused on inorganic or polymeric nanomaterials.
- Fluency in Japanese or Chinese.
