Sr. Import & Export Specialist (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Lead daily import and export activities, ensuring timely and compliant shipment execution.
• Review commercial, customs, dangerous goods, certificates of origin, and other government-required documentation.
• Coordinate freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders while resolving transportation and customs clearance issues.
• Ensure compliance with China Customs regulations, international trade regulations, and company trade compliance policies.
• Manage customs audits, government inspections, regulatory inquiries, HS classification reviews, FTAs, and duty-saving initiatives.
• Monitor logistics KPIs, transportation performance, cost-reduction projects, budgets, SAP and TMS data, dashboards, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics Management, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, customs compliance, or supply chain management.
• Strong knowledge of international trade compliance, China Customs regulations, HS classification, Incoterms 2020, duty and tax management, and free trade agreements.
• Hands-on experience with SAP, transportation management systems, and Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills are preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, vendor management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Fluent English in written and verbal communication, plus experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and government authorities.

Nice to have

• Two to three years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience with Power BI, data analytics tools, transportation tenders, and logistics cost optimization projects.
• Customs Broker, AEO Internal Auditor, or International Trade Compliance certification.
