Equipment Technician (Robotic-Assisted Surgery)

Location: Mexicali, Mexico; fully onsite; graveyard shift

Develops robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care technologies, including the da Vinci surgical system and Ion.

What you will do

• Provide first-response troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and continuous line-side equipment coverage to maximize manufacturing uptime.
• Install, repair, assemble, and maintain mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, automated, and computer-based equipment.
• Optimize equipment maintainability, reliability, availability, and production-process performance.
• Document equipment events, risk assessments, and issue ownership in SAP.
• Collect equipment-performance data and collaborate with equipment engineers and supervisors on improvements, testing, and qualification activities.
• Manage critical spare parts, vendor repairs, equipment shipping, fixture assembly, and technician training.

Requirements

• Technical certificate in electronics, mechanics, or a similar field.
• Mechanical and electronics aptitude with experience troubleshooting electronic and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use mechanical, electronic, and measurement tools.
• Knowledge of mechanical fixtures, hand and power tools, pneumatics, electrovalves, cylinders, gauges, relays, resistors, capacitors, sensors, multimeters, soldering equipment, and crimpers.
• Experience installing, setting up, and operating computers, plus proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• English reading, writing, and speaking at approximately 30% proficiency is required.

Nice to have

• CAD proficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, mechatronics, or an equivalent engineering field.
• Experience in a medical company.
• Experience troubleshooting automated or PLC-based equipment.
