Principal User Experience Designer

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Salary: CAD 116,000–170,500 annual base salary; offers may exceed this range based on experience and geographic location.

What you will do

• Design conceptual diagrams, task flows, storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, and other deliverables that define product direction.
• Lead collaborative sessions with customers and development partners to explore concepts, validate designs, and drive improvements.
• Run customer research during solution planning, strategy development, and early design.
• Lead design-thinking exercises to build shared understanding and solve complex design challenges.
• Partner with development leads on API-driven user experiences and collaborate with Scrum teams during implementation.
• Improve UX tools, processes, and scalable design standards while mentoring junior designers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience and depth across a broad range of design tools and methods.
• Experience designing for mobile, tablet, and web products.
• Ability to influence product roadmaps, align cross-functional stakeholders, and shape strategy through customer insight.
• Systems thinking, strong communication and collaboration skills, and experience managing stakeholders.
• Comfort using AI in design and prototyping.
• Updated resume and portfolio with a password for access are required when applying.

Nice to have

• Experience in large, distributed, enterprise organizations.
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, or similar sectors.
• Experience applying UX in Agile development environments.
• Experience with 2D/3D graphics or related software products.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and elevating other designers through feedback and design direction.
