Lead UX Designer (AI)

Location: Remote in Canada, with Toronto, Ontario listed as the primary work location

Salary: 70.00–75.00 USD per hour

What you will do

• Lead the full user-centered design process, from interviews and competitive analysis through high-fidelity designs, prototypes, validation, and implementation support.
• Design user flows, diagrams, wireframes, visual designs, prototypes, specifications, and development assets for enterprise products.
• Improve existing application features to increase usability and support key product metrics.
• Facilitate design reviews and collaborative workshops with designers, stakeholders, product, and engineering partners.
• Conduct domain research, usability studies, discovery interviews, and product analytics analysis.
• Contribute to design pattern libraries, improve design processes and culture, and mentor other designers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience in UX, UI, product design, and/or web design.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design, especially for enterprise software, PaaS, and on-premise applications.
• Mastery of design principles, including grid systems, typography, color, detail, and consistency.
• Experience coordinating qualitative and quantitative research, usability studies, discovery interviews, and product analytics analysis.
• Proficiency in Figma, Figma Make, Zeplin, and AI-assisted design and prototyping tools.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required. A relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is also required.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud, on-premise, and hybrid data platforms.
• Curiosity about AI and design, including personal experiments and AI-assisted design workflows.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, frontend JavaScript frameworks, and mobile-centric design patterns.
• Experience designing for data streaming, data engineering, data warehousing, machine learning, and AI applications.
