Sr Safety Engineer - Manufacturing

Location: Primarily onsite at the Normandale campus in Bloomington, United States, with up to 10% of time at the Shakopee location

Salary: $94,140.80–$134,625.20 per year

What you will do

• Lead safety reviews for new and modified equipment across purchase, installation, startup, operation, and decommissioning.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, field audits, inspections, and safety observations.
• Own and improve occupational safety programs while maintaining regulatory alignment and effective field execution.
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analyses, and manage corrective actions through effectiveness reviews.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Facilities, employees, and contractors to implement risk reduction measures.
• Support emergency response planning, safety training, contractor high-risk work, and safety performance improvement.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in occupational safety, EHS, manufacturing safety, industrial safety, or a related field.
• Experience with risk assessments, JHAs, incident investigations, corrective action management, audits, inspections, and field safety assessments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry 1910 and relevant OSHA Construction 1926 requirements.
• Experience with safety programs including LOTO, electrical safety, contractor safety, machine and equipment safety, confined space entry, hot work, emergency response, and fall protection.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related technical discipline.
• Ability to work onsite, engage directly with employees and contractors, influence stakeholders, and manage multiple priorities independently.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor, advanced, electronics, chemical processing, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, process changes, or Management of Change activities.
• Familiarity with SEMI S2/S8 equipment safety concepts and hazardous chemicals or compressed gases.
• ASP, GSP, CSP, or similar EHS certification, or progress toward certification.
• Emergency response, crisis management, incident command, or HAZWOPER experience.
