Senior Manager, Mechanical Engineering (Robotics)

Location: Boston office in Charlestown, Massachusetts; minimum 4 days per week in the office, with additional onsite days as project demands require.

Salary: $188,000–$197,500 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the mechanical hardware design and development of an automated beverage platform from concept through production.
• Lead and manage a team of 3–4 mechanical engineers while establishing a culture of growth, accountability, and results.
• Collaborate with Software, Operations, Culinary, product, and other teams to define and deliver system-level product specifications.
• Design, prototype, validate, and document complex industrial automation systems and design decisions.
• Provide technical guidance and solve the most difficult mechanical engineering problems during product development.
• Drive design, prototyping, and validation timelines to meet product development deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 8 years of mechanical engineering product development experience in industrial automation, including at least 2 years in a staff or leadership role.
• Experience leading mechanical engineering teams and developing products from concept to scaled production.
• Strong knowledge of robotics systems and experience collaborating with robotics software groups and product managers.
• Experience designing systems with gantries, smart conveyors, linear and pneumatic actuators, sensors, and other standard industrial automation components.
• Expertise in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools, 2D drawings, GD&T, and CAD best practices.

• Experience in beverage automation or food and beverage product development.
