Medical Assistant I

Location: Frederick, Maryland, United States; onsite clinical work in an oncology/hematology clinic

Salary: $15.00–$23.01 per hour

What you will do

• Escort patients between exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms.
• Record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medication changes, and other patient data.
• Prepare patient records, examination rooms, treatment rooms, and medical supplies.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures, including delegated subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
• Maintain room disinfection protocols and support safe patient flow.
• Handle patient calls, prescription requests, scheduling updates, reception, filing, faxing, and chart preparation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–3 years of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
• Current BCLS certification required within three months of hire.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work in a clinical environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations.

Nice to have

• Certificate from an accredited medical assistant program.
• Certified Medical Assistant credential.
