Product Owner - FACTS Financial Aid

Location: Lincoln, Nebraska, United States; hybrid work is available for associates within 30 miles of an office. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Salary: $85,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Coordinate product development, release planning, and delivery for FACTS Financial Aid products.
• Work with agile development teams to create use cases, requirements, estimates, user stories, and low-fidelity prototypes.
• Gather, prioritize, and translate feedback from schools, administrators, families, applicants, state programs, scholarship organizations, and delivery teams.
• Create and validate UX mockups and functional prototypes with internal and external stakeholders.
• Partner with engineering and data teams on financial aid workflows, technical specifications, data elements, validation rules, and information flow.
• Manage release notes, roadmaps, customer-journey analytics, client documentation, and product feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of related experience or existing product knowledge.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and business rules and translate them into clear development requirements.
• Comfort working with structured or financial data, data relationships, validation concepts, APIs, file-based submissions, or data schemas.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, meet externally imposed deadlines, and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Existing United States work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with financial aid, tuition management, or K–12 school operations.
• Experience with data exchange, including APIs, file-based submissions, or data schemas.
