VP, Healthcare Underwriter (Healthcare Finance)

Salary: $180,000–$225,000 per year

What you will do

• Review new healthcare loan opportunities and prepare complex underwriting for transactions typically ranging from $30–100 million.
• Analyze historical and projected financial performance, financing scenarios, valuations, and risks across healthcare operations and regulatory environments.
• Conduct due diligence on accounts receivable, accounts payable, provider taxes, real estate taxes, licensure, clinical performance, and third-party reimbursement.
• Review financial statements, borrowing base certificates, appraisals, engineering reports, collateral examinations, and other borrower and third-party reports.
• Coordinate legal documentation, insurance reviews, KYC collection, bank account opening, interest rate protection products, and loan closings.
• Manage the transition of closed loans to portfolio management, build industry relationships, and identify new lending opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree focused on finance, accounting, or a related field, or comparable post-degree experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in credit analysis and loan underwriting, preferably in healthcare finance.
• Strong understanding of credit policies, procedures, and risk assessment for new and existing loans.
• High proficiency in financial statement analysis and Excel-based financial modeling.
• Experience with loan structuring and legal documentation review.
• Strong quantitative, qualitative, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
