What you will do

  • Lead the administration, maintenance, optimization, troubleshooting, and security of classified enterprise systems, including servers, desktops, storage, and peripheral equipment.
  • Act as the technical lead and primary escalation point for complex system, infrastructure, operating system, hardware, virtualization, and performance issues.
  • Plan and oversee operating system and software upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Design and implement infrastructure improvements, modernization initiatives, security measures, and system enhancements.
  • Coordinate operational activities and project deliverables while collaborating with network, cybersecurity, IT support, engineering, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Standardize documentation and administration procedures, provide status updates, and mentor junior system administrators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years as a primary Linux Systems Administrator in large-scale enterprise or DoD environments.
  • Must be a US Citizen and hold a TS/SCI Clearance with a CI Polygraph, or be able to obtain and maintain it.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE, CISSP, or an IAW DoD 8570 certification.
  • Advanced Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, including lifecycle management, patching, hardening, performance tuning, troubleshooting, automation, STIG compliance, auditing, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience with Bash, Python, Ansible, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, VMware, enterprise storage, and backup solutions.

Nice to have

  • Experience with STIG Viewer, SCAP Compliance Checker, OpenSCAP, vulnerability scanning, and mitigation tools.
  • Familiarity with the DoD Risk Management Framework and Special Access Program system configuration under JSIG requirements.
  • Experience transitioning legacy products to virtualized environments and leading complex, high-risk teams or projects.
