Lead Cybersecurity Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: Foster City, California, United States; at least 3 days per week in the office

Salary: $200,000–$320,000 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and operate large-scale cybersecurity platforms for detection, prevention, and response across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Build Python-based, API-first security services and integrations across SIEM, CSPM, CNAPP, IAM, network security, and threat intelligence platforms.
• Develop GenAI-powered workflows and autonomous agents for cloud misconfiguration analysis, policy validation, threat triage, alert summarization, and remediation.
• Engineer cloud security controls across Azure or AWS using Terraform, Infrastructure-as-Code, Policy-as-Code, and GitOps workflows.
• Operate cloud security posture management capabilities and automate threat intelligence ingestion, signal enrichment, and risk scoring.
• Lead technical designs and proofs of concept, guide production adoption, mentor engineers, and contribute to planning, cost estimation, timelines, and risk assessment.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 8+ years with an advanced degree, or 3+ years with a PhD.
• Expert-level knowledge of at least one major cloud platform, with Azure preferred, plus experience implementing cloud-native security controls at scale.
• Strong experience in multi-cloud security engineering, application cloud migration, risk-based security control design, and regulatory requirements.
• Production-grade programming skills in Python or Go and experience with GenAI solutions or autonomous agents for security.
• Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, GitOps, secure state management, drift detection, Policy-as-Code, and enterprise guardrails.
• Regular office attendance in Foster City is required, with at least 3 days per week in the office.

Nice to have

• 12+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 8–10 years with an advanced degree, or 6+ years with a PhD.
• Expert-level certification in a major cloud platform, preferably Azure.
• Experience with Wiz, Prisma Cloud, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, cloud-native SIEM platforms, cloud firewalls, DDoS protection, and network proxies.
