Lead Cloud Security Engineer

Location: Oak Brook, Illinois, United States; office attendance required at least three days per week, with Monday and Wednesday mandatory.

Salary: $102,600–$193,425 base pay annually, plus benefits, 401(k) contribution, and eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Architect and enforce security controls across AWS and Microsoft Azure, including IAM, network segmentation, encryption, and logging.
• Manage cloud security posture management and cloud workload protection tooling, assess cloud environments, and drive remediation of misconfigurations.
• Design security guardrails for Terraform, CloudFormation, and Bicep Infrastructure-as-Code pipelines.
• Monitor and respond to cloud threats by integrating cloud telemetry with SIEM and detection workflows.
• Harden container and serverless architectures, including EKS, ECS, Lambda, AKS, and Azure Functions.
• Lead cloud security standards, reference architectures, incident response support, tooling evaluations, and team performance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive information security experience, including at least 4 years in cloud security engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure security services, including IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, Config, KMS, VPC security, WAF, Entra ID, Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Key Vault, NSGs, Azure Monitor, and Sentinel.
• Experience with CSPM platforms, Infrastructure-as-Code security, container security, serverless security, cloud network security, CI/CD security integration, and DevSecOps.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and influence engineering, IT operations, product, and other non-security stakeholders.
• Ability to work from the Oak Brook office at least three days per week and manage major incidents outside business hours.

Nice to have

• AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), CCSP, CISSP, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with cloud detection and response tooling and cloud-native threat detection.
