Director, Managed Care Strategy

Location: Fully remote; the role supports a nationwide healthcare client base

What you will do

• Lead consulting engagements covering managed care strategy, payer-provider alignment, reimbursement optimization, and healthcare network development.
• Advise hospitals, health systems, physician organizations, CINs, ACOs, payers, and healthcare investors on payer strategy, market dynamics, and value-based care transformation.
• Develop integrated strategies across managed care, value-based care, physician alignment, partnerships, and enterprise growth.
• Evaluate readiness for alternative payment models, including shared savings, bundled payments, Medicare Advantage, capitation, and other risk-based arrangements.
• Conduct market, competitive, operational, and financial analyses to support strategic decisions and growth opportunities.
• Lead project teams, manage client relationships, contribute to business development, and mentor team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, public health, economics, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in healthcare consulting, managed care strategy, payer strategy, healthcare administration, corporate strategy, or related advisory services.
• Demonstrated experience advising healthcare organizations on managed care strategy, reimbursement optimization, payer-provider alignment, or value-based care transformation.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, managed care contracting, population health, payer-provider economics, commercial plans, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, fee-for-service, bundled payments, and shared savings.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication, project leadership, and client management skills.
• Ability to engage executive leadership, physicians, boards, and investors; travel as required.

Nice to have

• MBA, MHA, MPH, or another relevant advanced degree.
• Experience at a healthcare strategy, advisory, or management consulting firm.
• Experience with partnerships, affiliations, joint ventures, healthcare transactions, payer organizations, or provider-sponsored health plans.
• Business development experience, established industry relationships, and experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
