Senior Middleware Engineer (WebSphere MQ)

Location: Remote work available in the Kitchener or London, Ontario area; position based in Canada

Compensation: CAD 79,965–127,000 annually, based on experience.

What you will do

• Develop and modify IT infrastructure to support business objectives.
• Deploy, configure, administer, maintain, and monitor infrastructure and messaging systems.
• Design technical solutions, specifications, and documentation for projects and daily support initiatives.
• Gather requirements, assess feasibility and cost-benefit considerations, and recommend solution designs with customers, stakeholders, and system owners.
• Provide technical support and training to users with different levels of IT knowledge.
• Perform preventative maintenance and support network security, audit remediation, and systems hardening.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with enterprise-scale systems, high-availability configurations, clustering, load balancing, fault tolerance, configuration management, optimization, and monitoring.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, IIS, DHCP/DNS, TCP/IP, Windows Server, VMware, storage area networks, virtualization, and fiber-channel switching.
• Working knowledge of Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, hyper-converged technologies, IBM MQ, and WebSphere.
• Experience with Linux servers, SQL Server, networking, firewalls, data archival, LAN/WAN, VoIP, MPLS, monitoring, scripting, automation, Cisco UCS, or PKI.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Reliability Clearance (PERC) throughout employment.
