TL;DR
Senior HR Generalist (HR Operations): Delivering HR programs and services across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HRIS management, with an accent on compliance and operational ownership. Focus on administering FMLA and ADA processes across multiple states, maintaining Paylocity workflows, and improving recurring HR operations.

Location: Washington, D.C.; onsite in the office several days a week. Candidate must have the legal right to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Salary: $110,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, including documentation, system setup, separation paperwork, and process metrics.
  • Document and improve HR workflows, employee-facing processes, templates, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR inquiries and manage employee relations matters, including performance discussions, conflicts, and investigations.
  • Administer the HRIS, maintain employee records, and support the Paylocity implementation.
  • Coordinate benefits and payroll data, enrollment changes, deductions, employee education, and vendor questions.
  • Administer FMLA and state leave programs and ADA workplace accommodation requests across a distributed, multi-state workforce.

Requirements

  • 6–8 years of progressive HR generalist experience, including ownership of HR operations in a lean environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, including FMLA and ADA, with familiarity with Washington, D.C. and multi-state requirements.
  • Hands-on benefits administration experience covering medical, leave, and retirement programs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, follow-through, initiative, and project management skills.
  • Legal right to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
