TL;DR
EHS Specialist (Aerospace): Managing end-to-end environmental, health, and safety programs across multiple spacecraft manufacturing facilities with an accent on regulatory compliance, hazardous materials management, and proactive workplace safety. Focus on developing safety plans, investigating incidents, conducting onsite risk assessments, and implementing corrective measures across Bay Area locations.

Location: San Jose, California; full-time onsite presence Monday through Friday across Bay Area facilities; no work-from-home option

Salary: $125,000–$150,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

  • Own environmental, health, and safety operations across all company facilities.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain safety plans, emergency action plans, and site-specific evacuation maps.
  • Manage HazCom and chemical disposal programs, including SDS databases, chemical inventories, waste profiling, labeling, storage, and vendor pickups.
  • Maintain regulatory accounts, environmental reporting platforms such as CERS, and EPA identification numbers.
  • Conduct floor inspections, risk assessments, chemical storage reviews, and workplace incident investigations.
  • Coordinate contractor safety and deliver safety onboarding and HazCom training to internal teams.

Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to work onsite five days per week across company locations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least three years of hands-on EHS experience, preferably in office operations, technology facilities, laboratories, R&D, or manufacturing.
  • Experience managing regulatory reporting platforms such as CERS and EPA compliance credentials.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and state standards, EPA hazardous waste rules including RCRA, local fire codes, and emergency response planning.
  • Must meet applicable U.S. export-control eligibility requirements for access to ITAR/EAR-controlled information.

Nice to have

  • DOT/IATA or RCRA hazardous waste training certification.
  • Experience creating evacuation routes with Bluebeam, Lucidchart, or AutoCAD.
  • Experience managing requests through Asana or Jira.
