Measurement Systems Vision Guidance Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Onsite in Warren, Michigan, United States, with regular travel of approximately 25–50% to strategic supplier locations and assembly centers.

What you will do

• Deploy advanced automated quality measurement systems across body and general assembly operations.
• Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, deliverables, risks, and resolution plans.
• Create Statements of Requirements and manage procurement activities through ARIBA.
• Lead technical, design, and project reviews with suppliers, manufacturing plants, engineering teams, and quality systems stakeholders.
• Direct system design, development, build, integration, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Drive standardization, validation, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency for quality systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of experience in body manufacturing, general assembly manufacturing, or related automotive manufacturing operations.
• Experience managing and executing projects with strategic suppliers and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, stakeholder-management, project-leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to work onsite at the Warren Tech Center and travel regularly to supplier locations and assembly centers.

Nice to have

• Experience with optical and laser-based metrology systems, machine vision, and moving-conveyor applications.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, dimensional requirements, and tolerance specifications.
• Proficiency with Teamcenter, NX, and PolyWorks.
• Knowledge of industrial networking, system communications, network architecture, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
