Quality Supervisor 2nd (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States; must be able to work other shifts, flex the schedule, work overtime, and travel occasionally to customer plants, including overnight trips.

What you will do

• Lead daily activities of quality technicians and inspectors, including inspection protocols, testing, documentation, and audit functions.
• Monitor production processes for compliance with internal standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate root cause analysis, corrective actions, containment, quarantine, and disposition of nonconforming materials.
• Partner with production and engineering teams on process improvements, waste reduction, Control Plans, PFMEA, and process audits.
• Coordinate incoming, in-process, layout, product, gear, gauge, and calibration inspections, including weekly Layered Process Audits.
• Serve as the primary contact for quality issues and respond to customer concerns through timely internal reporting and containment actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of applicable experience, plus 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, CAPA, FMEA, SPC, and auditing techniques.
• Experience leading and mentoring quality teams, training staff, resolving conflicts, and maintaining accountability.
• Proficiency in English communication, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, with strong organizational and mathematical skills.
• Ability to use measurement equipment and gages and to physically disassemble and assemble products.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure manufacturing environment and adapt to shift, overtime, and travel requirements.

• Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Experience with metal machining operations and assembly.
