Operations Manager

Location: Elmira, NY; fully in-person onsite 4–5 days per week

Salary: $65,000–$90,000 per year

What you will do

• Run daily onsite operations to provide safe, reliable, and accessible transportation.
• Make real-time decisions about fleet availability, driver supply, compliance, rider needs, and unexpected service issues.
• Guide and support professional drivers, address concerns, and build strong working relationships.
• Use rider and community feedback, operational data, and technology to diagnose problems and improve service efficiency.
• Coordinate between city partners, drivers, and central teams to deliver community transportation goals.

Requirements

• Experience in operations, people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, proactive problem-solving, and long-term planning skills.
• Deep understanding of fixed-route transit, including time-point adherence, breakdown escalations, and run scheduling.
• Comfort working around Class A and Class B vehicles, including 35–45-foot coach buses and their safety, maintenance, and maneuvering requirements.
• Proven experience managing and retaining professional CDL drivers while maintaining DOT/FMCSA safety and compliance standards.
• Ability to commute to the Elmira area and work onsite 4–5 days per week.
