Flight Operations Manager

Location: Remote US, United States; preference for candidates based in the Rochester, NY area. The role supports fleet management across multiple time zones, including weekends and holidays.

Base salary: $60,000–$70,000 per year, plus 10% bonus potential.

What you will do

• Coordinate the assignment and distribution of fixed-wing imagery capture projects.
• Communicate with flight suppliers to support safe, efficient execution within product specifications.
• Track workload progress and rebalance assignments across the fleet to improve capture success.
• Coordinate pre- and post-capture activities, fleet deployment, and asset decommissioning.
• Maintain production reporting and evaluate flight supplier performance.
• Coordinate access to controlled, prohibited, and restricted airspace and support research, validation, and disaster-response flight programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Imaging Science, Business, Communications, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in scheduling, logistics, or GIS.
• Ability to prioritize, adapt quickly under constraints, and make real-time decisions.
• Strong organization, dependability, and self-sufficiency.
• Flexible availability for fleet management across multiple time zones, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfort working by phone and across multiple technology platforms, cloud services, and Microsoft products.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of imaging, GIS, and remote sensing.
• Experience using technology to solve critical, real-time operational problems.
