What you will do

• Edit news, features and enterprise stories for accuracy, clarity, fairness and accessibility.
• Write and refine headlines for print readers.
• Write and refine photo captions.
• Work alongside award-winning journalists in a fast-moving newsroom.

Requirements

• Must be a college junior, senior or graduate student enrolled in a degree program by noon Eastern time on Friday, October 9, 2026.
• Strong understanding of style, grammar and sentence structure.
• Ability to edit for clarity and work calmly under intense deadlines.
• Commitment to accuracy, clarity and journalistic rigor.
• Application must include a résumé, an autobiographical essay of no more than 500 words and up to six edited news or feature stories with an explanation of the applicant’s role.
