Location: Arlington, VA - 1801 S Bell (INDG)

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 per year

What you will do

• Plan, pitch, execute, edit, and promote timely newsletters and stories.
• Help launch the newsroom’s daily early-morning newsletter lineup.
• Coach reporters on developing larger and more impactful stories.
• Select feature ideas and pitch concepts for videos and podcasts.
• Coordinate editorial work, meet deadlines, and support reader-focused coverage.

Requirements

• Seven or more years of journalism experience.
• Comfort working an early-morning shift beginning at 5 a.m.
• Strong curiosity and news judgment, including the ability to explain complex legal and government actions.
• Excellent editing and writing skills.
• Collaborative communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and deadline-management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
