Sr. IT Financial Reporting Business Analyst

What you will do

• Gather, analyze, document, and validate requirements for financial close, reconciliation, statutory and GAAP reporting, intercompany accounting, reinsurance, allocations, controls, audits, and data lineage.
• Translate finance and accounting requirements into user stories, functional specifications, reports, interfaces, data solutions, test cases, and UAT scenarios.
• Assess upstream and downstream system impacts and identify data quality issues, process gaps, and control risks.
• Support production investigations related to financial results and reporting.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, developers, QA teams, and data professionals to ensure accuracy, completeness, regulatory compliance, auditability, and effective controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of related professional experience, including 5+ years as a Business Analyst supporting Finance or Accounting organizations.
• Experience with data analysis, business systems, SQL, Microsoft Office, and data manipulation tools.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and procedures.
• Direct experience in an insurance carrier environment, including P&C, Life, Health, or Specialty insurance.
• Experience with statutory or GAAP reporting, financial close and reconciliation, intercompany accounting, and reinsurance accounting operations.
