Sr. Technical Business Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Remote from any location; optional downtown Chicago office.

What you will do

• Lead strategic discussions with business and engineering teams to address reporting challenges and define high-impact initiatives.
• Gather and refine requirements, define project scope, and translate business and regulatory needs into technical specifications.
• Manage, mentor, and guide junior business analysts while aligning team efforts with organizational goals.
• Plan, schedule, monitor, and coordinate projects to support timely, high-quality delivery.
• Develop, maintain, test, and troubleshoot dbt models and complex SQL queries for operational, financial, bank, executive, and regulatory reporting.
• Perform data modeling, reconciliation, validation, root-cause analysis, and data quality improvement across reporting workflows.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional business analysis experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
• Experience managing and mentoring teams and influencing stakeholders across diverse functions.
• Strong understanding of financial products, fintech regulations, banking or lending processes, audit controls, and reporting accuracy.
• Advanced experience writing, optimizing, validating, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries in large-scale data environments.
• Experience developing and maintaining dbt models, including transformations, testing, documentation, and lineage management.
• Experience with data warehouses or modern analytics platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar.
