Salary: $83,000–$86,000 per year, plus an annual performance-based bonus

What you will do

  • Rotate through the maintenance and production departments as part of a two-year developmental training program.
  • Implement moderate to large process improvements, problem-elimination initiatives, and capital and expense projects.
  • Improve equipment health, plant reliability, facility performance, and overall manufacturing operations.
  • Lead optimization projects focused on scrap reduction, throughput improvement, and downtime reduction.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership, operators, maintenance personnel, mentors, managers, and other Plant Optimization Engineers.
  • Attend program conferences and off-site technical training while developing a long-term career path within PCA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required before starting.
  • 0–2 years of engineering experience, including internships and co-ops, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to work first, second, or third shift during production rotations.
  • Ability to travel as necessary with valid documents for air and automobile travel.
  • Strong communication, listening, evaluation, problem-solving, teamwork, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly, develop alternative solutions, and meet deadlines in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

  • Manufacturing internship or co-op experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, shop-floor software, or maintenance work-order systems.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Statistical Process Control.
