APD Claim Representative I - Meemic (Auto Insurance)

Location: Remote; Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm ET. Occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, team building, repair-facility visits, or inspections may be required.

Salary: $25.00-$30.00 per hour, plus eligibility for an annual company bonus incentive.

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve low- to moderate-complexity automobile physical damage claims.
• Review claim information, assess vehicle damage, determine coverage, applicable limits, exclusions, and state-law requirements.
• Contact insureds and affected parties, explain the claim process, and document claim activity in the claims management system.
• Prepare damage estimates, evaluate financial losses, approve payments, coordinate repairs, and manage car rental expenses.
• Identify policyholder benefits, subrogation opportunities, recovery potential, and referrals to underwriting or special investigations units.
• Handle total-loss settlements, direct repair shop compliance, and simple APD litigation cases when assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of the ACG Claim Representative Training Program or equivalent knowledge or experience.
• At least six months of experience or equivalent training in claim-settlement negotiation, evidence evaluation, estimates, or subrogation.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a state adjuster license within 90 days of hire where required.
• A valid driver’s license is required when the role includes in-person inspections or frequent in-person meetings.
• Ability to analyze claims, apply insurance policies and regulations, communicate effectively, travel outside the assigned territory, and potentially work evenings or weekends.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field.
• Insurance Institute of America coursework, CPCU coursework or designation, I-CAR ProLevel training, CCC training, or Xactware training.
