TL;DR
Engineer IV, Project Quality Assurance (Nuclear): Supporting quality assurance for a reactor development project with an accent on nuclear quality management systems, regulatory compliance, supplier qualification, and audit programs. Focus on analyzing non-conformances, implementing corrective actions, maintaining project quality plans, and conducting quality inspections across nuclear manufacturing and supply chain activities.

Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States; 3–4 days per week onsite. Travel: 20–30% for domestic and international supplier and customer site visits. Work hours: 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday.

Salary: $135,000–$157,500 per year.

What you will do

  • Establish, implement, maintain, and improve Quality Management System processes and documentation for the reactor development program.
  • Analyze non-conformances and implement corrective actions and process improvements with engineering teams.
  • Conduct or support internal quality inspections, supplier audits, evaluations, qualifications, surveillances, and inspections.
  • Own the project-specific quality plan, including customer requirements and key performance indicators.
  • Serve as the quality point of contact for the assigned project and report program status, risks, and improvement recommendations to leadership.
  • Promote safety and quality culture and provide quality training across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related field from an ABET-accredited college or university; relevant non-STEM education may be considered with applicable experience and training.
  • Typically 10 years of experience in a relevant quality assurance role.
  • Certified nuclear Lead Auditor credentials with documented experience leading and supporting nuclear-specific audits.
  • Knowledge of Commercial Grade Dedication and ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory systems.
  • Experience applying nuclear and manufacturing quality requirements, including 10 CFR Part 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, ASME NQA-1, CSA standards, and ISO 9001.
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite 3–4 days per week in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and travel domestically and internationally.
